The York S1-PSW-068 Low Pressure Switch is a refrigerant control component used in air conditioning and heat pump systems to protect the compressor from operating under unsafe suction pressure conditions. In HVAC systems, it is installed on the low-pressure side of the refrigerant circuit, where it monitors system operation during cooling cycles. It features a 107 PSI cut-out and 68 PSI cut-in, meaning it stops system operation when pressure drops below the safe threshold and automatically restores operation once pressure rises to the recovery level. This controlled cycling helps prevent compressor damage and supports refrigerant charge protection.
