The York S1-404420 Drier Filter Core is an essentil part of HVAC systems, its primary function is to shield the refrigeration system from moisture and contaminants. This filter-drier unit purges the refrigerant from moisture and other contaminants that may exist in the flowing system. This desiccant material removes water vapor from the refrigerant stream so it doesn’t get to the essential components of the system such as the compressor, evaporator and condenser. This is because the filter-drier gets rid of moisture that would otherwise form acids that are destructive to the system incurring expensive repairs. The system performance and efficiency, by eliminating the accumulation of dirt and moisture within the refrigerant.
