Description
Watts 0384240 Pressure Relief Valve that measures 2” x 2.5” and is used specifically to prevent systems such as HVAC from pressure build up. This high-capacity pressure relieving valve is made of iron with a relief setting of 40 PSI and has a capacity of 6,440,000 BTU. It functions by running at times when system pressure is higher than the specified pressure and drains off excess fluid to avoid stressing some system parts. This valve is used in several HVAC systems such as the boiler system, chiller system and closed loop hydronic system. Advantages include; increased system safety through the reduction of pressures which may lead to pipe burst or equipment failure.
