Description
The Trane VAL9578 6-ton thermal expansion valve (TXV) for R410A refrigerant in air conditioning and heat pump applications. This valve regulates the amount of the refrigerant refrigerant that enters into the evaporator coil depending on the superheat that the refrigerant vapor has when it returns to the compressor. Because the TXV meters the refrigerant, it is able to provide maximum evaporator performance and system efficiency. How it operates is that thewanted refrigerant temperature and pressure is the one felt when the refrigerant is exiting from the evaporator, and the valve opening is regulated with the aim of obtaining a particular superheat.
