Description
The Trane VAL7178 is a 1/2″, 2-way float switch valve used to control water flow in HVAC systems usually in chilled water loops or condenser water installations. The float mechanism and spring-loaded closure are used to control the flow of water levels in the system. The float closes the valve when water levels fall below a specified point and then opens the valve to allow additional water to enter the system. This automatic operation keeps water levels constant in HVAC equipment, and protects components from damage due to low or high water pressure, while the Trane is made of durable forged brass for strength and corrosion resistance and features a sweat connection for easy installation into copper piping systems.
