Description
Trane VAL4406 is an indoor thermostatic expansion valve from the 10-ton capacity suitable for HVAC equipment. Also called thermal expansion valve, this controls the flow of the refrigerant in air conditioning and refrigerator systems. The TXV regulates the quantity of refrigerant that enters the evaporator coil based on the temperature sensed in the evaporator coil, thus maintaining efficiency of the cooling process and avoiding icing of the evaporator coil. This Trane TXV is intended for sweat connections, the inlet is 7/8 inch and the outlet is 1-1/8 inch. It uses a 60” capillary tube to measure temperature and control the flow of the refrigerant. Designed for R-22 refrigerant, the valve has a pressure range of 450 MWP PSI.
