Description
The Trane’s VAL19558 is a reversing valve for heat pumps. It controls the of flow of the system’s refrigerant. It has a 3/4″ outer diameter connection, but no coil (the heat exchanger component), its inlets and outputs are sized at ½” and ¾”, respectively. This is how it operates: In the heating mode, the valve moves the hot refrigerant to the interior unit were it will distribute it to the rest of the rooms. When the equipment is placed in the cooling mode then the cold refrigerant is blown into the indoor through reversing the flow. An essential part of Trane heat pumps’ ability to switch between cooling operations and heating as you need and as seasonal conditions require is this valve.
