The Trane VAL07562 Thermal Expansion Valve regulates refrigerant flow into the evaporator to maintain proper superheat and balanced cooling performance. With a 3-ton capacity and 0.31 inch ODS by Chatleff connection configuration in HVAC systems, it provides controlled refrigerant metering for efficient operation. It works by sensing temperature and pressure changes at the evaporator outlet and adjusting valve opening through a diaphragm mechanism to match system demand. Located at the evaporator inlet, it interfaces with liquid and suction lines to manage refrigerant distribution.
