Description
The Trane SWT3623 is a low pressure cut-out switch and is a safety component of Trane refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It safeguards the system’s central part, the compressor, by halting the compressor when the refrigerant pressure is low. This pressure switch contains a sensor that monitors the system refrigerant pressure. The switch opening the circuit shuts off the compressor if the pressure falls below 250 psi. This prevents the compressor from working at low pressure which causes overheating and inadequate lubrication which are unhealthy for the compressor. When the pressure reaches a certain limit which is normally above 250 psi, the switch resets itself.
