Description
The Trane RLY2433 is a motor start relay which is a mini-part that is installed in the air conditioner or furnace system. It protects over-driven critical parts that, when a compressor or fan motor is switched on, draw a certain amount of current suddenly. On the other hand, the relay acts as a temporary switch that produces a high current channel until the motor is up to its rated operating speed. The motor then runs directly on normal voltage once the relay is switched off as seen above at Figure 4. With the RLY2433, the current surge is also dealt with thus preventing any possible harm to the motor or any other electrical parts.
