Description
The Trane MOT17285 motor is a workhorse motor for industrial and commercial HVAC systems. It provides 1/3 horsepower of output using a powerful 460-volt, 3-phase connection. In a simpler sense, running the motor is spinning a shaft inside a rotating magnetic field set up by three hot wires to keep the motor shaft at a steady 1100 RPM. The rotation is then used to power fans, blowers, and other rotating components in HVAC equipment. Its cast-iron frame provides a structurally sound and heat-draining foundation and helps to gently dissipate the heat for longer life. It’s small enough about 7.8″ long, and 15″ wide to fit into many HVAC units. The vibrating noise is also reduced in the process and the rotor is precisely balanced for smoother operation.
