Description
The Trane MOT12987 is a ½ horsepower, 115/230 volt Electronically Commutated Motor (ECM) applied in commercial and industrial HVAC applications. ECM technology uses electronics to control the motor as opposed to conventional AC motors. This translates to better performance than the older motors. The programmable feature of the MOT12987 makes it easy for technicians to set the device to match certain system requirements. It helps to provide for air circulation to emphasize heating and cooling. In addition, what makes the ECM motors unique is that they are designed to operate at variable speeds.
