Description
The Trane CTR2837 is a 3 pole contactor which is sturdy and built for HVAC applications. However, a contactor can managed larger currents than a switch. In layman’s terms, it works like a strong switch that regulates the current of high voltage to some essential parts of the system like the compressor and motor. The CTR2837 has a 160 amp capacity to handle electrical currents found in commercial and industrial HVAC systems. When a control signal is applied, the contactor pulls the movable contact point by electromagnetic force to close the internal circuit and supply power to the target device. The Trane CTR2837 has front/side mounting and can work at temperatures above 55°F.
