Description
The Trane COM11229 Scroll Compressor was a robust unit for cooling commercial spaces of medium sizes. It used R-22 refrigerant, an option that had increasingly restrictive ecological characteristics. This was not a piston type of compressor that is commonly used, but rather a scroll-type compressor from Trane. In the closed casing, two intertwined scrolls work as a pump that compresses the refrigerant gas. This design resulted in 3.7 tons, or about 44,000 BTUH, which is suitable for handling moderate cooling loads in commercial structures. The Trane COM11229 Scroll Compressor was designed for use in air conditioning systems that made use of R-22 refrigerant.
