Description
The Trane CNT3649 Low-Pressure Switch is an essential for HVAC system applications, more so in chillers and other refrigeration applications. This switch measures the refrigerant pressure in the system. It works through switching an electrical circuit depending on certain pressures. When the refrigerant pressure is below the switching pressure 8-12 PSI, the switch turns off the power supply to the compressor. This helps to avoid operation of the system under low pressure that can lead to problems such as compressor burnout or coil freeze up. When the pressure goes up to the reset point 15 PSI, the switch turns on and the compressor is able to start up again.
