Description
The Trane CNT3049 Defrost Control is a necessity for the correct operation of Trane defrosting systems. This is a Single Pole, Single Throw switch with a Normally Closed arrangement with a 30″ capillary tube. The control is simply a long, thin tube containing a temperature-sensitive liquid or gas. If the evaporator coil freezes up and shuts down airflow, the temperature inside the capillary tube drops. The temperature difference causes the switch in the CNT3049 to open the circuit, cutting power to the compressor. However, many defrosting devices usually electric heaters employed in an evaporator coil get powered.
