Description
The Trane CNT05640 SPST Air Pressure Control is used to verify airflow conditions before allowing equipment operation. In HVAC systems, it is installed in packaged units and rooftop equipment, where it monitors pressure changes created by the inducer or blower assembly during start-up. It is rated for 28 VA pilot duty at 24 VAC, meaning it is designed to switch low-voltage control circuits under light electrical load conditions. When proper air movement is detected, it closes to permit system operation; if airflow is insufficient or interrupted, it opens the circuit to stop operation and protect the equipment from unsafe conditions.
