Description
The Tecumseh 8300MRAD96 Overload is a structural thermal Protection component used in within refrigeration and air-conditioning compressors. It operates by monitoring excessive current or temperature conditions in the compressor motor, and temporarily interrupting operation when unsafe levels are detected. If the system cools or the electrical load returns to normal it reset and allows the compressor to restart automatically in HVAC systems applications. It is installed as part of the compressor assembly in commercial cooling units including refrigeration systems and heat pumps. Its role is to safeguard the compressor circuit during abnormal operating conditions such as high head pressure, and restricted airflows.
