Description
The Supco FLS700 Flame Sensor is a safety device crucial for gas-fired HVAC equipment like furnaces. It safeguards the system by detecting the presence of a flame in the burner assembly. The sensor’s 6-inch probe houses a thermistor (NTC thermistor) with a resistance of 10,000 ohms at room temperature (25°C). As the flame heats the probe, the thermistor’s resistance decreases. The HVAC control board monitors this resistance. A detected flame within a specific resistance range ensures the safe and efficient operation of the gas burner. With a total length of 4 inches from flange to tip, the Supco FLS700 offers a compact design for easy installation in most compatible furnaces.
