Description
The Sporlan Controls 903057 is a 1/2-inch ODF (Outside Diameter Female) head pressure control valve intended for use in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. Because it controls head pressure, that is, the pressure on the compressor’s discharge side it is essential to preserving system performance and averting possible damage. A pressure sensor built into the valve keeps an ongoing eye on the system’s head pressure. A predetermined head pressure level is programmed into the valve. By altering its internal opening, the valve modifies the flow of refrigerant in response to variations between the setpoint and the measured pressure. The valve marginally inhibits flow if the head pressure increases above the setpoint.
