Description
The Sporlan Controls 806540 SERB-10-S is a thermal expansion valve (TXV) intended for use in a variety of commercial and domestic air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The TXV has a sensor bulb that is filled with a liquid or vapour that expands or contracts in reaction to variations in the refrigerant’s suction line temperature. A pressure port inside it that detects the pressure of the refrigerant passing through the valve may also be included. The TXV internally controls the opening of a valve based on the combined data from the sensing bulb and pressure port (if applicable). This regulates the amount of refrigerant that enters the system’s evaporator coil. The TXV’s major job is to keep the evaporator coil’s superheat at the proper level.
