The Sporlan Controls 168147 2-Ton Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) is used for refrigerant control in HVAC applications such as air conditioning and heat pump. This TXV controls the amount of R-404A refrigerant that enters the evaporator coil depending on superheat to enhance cooling. With 3/8” x 1/2” ODF connections and a 5’ capillary tube, it provides precise measurement and avoids liquid refrigerant from flowing into the compressor which is detrimental. Advantages include increased energy efficiency, proper cooling, longer compressor life, and lower operating expenses because of proper system performance and durability.
