The Sporlan Controls 124238 20-Ton Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) is intended for use with R-22 refrigerant. They control the admission of refrigerant into the evaporator so as to smooth the cooling process. This particular model has 7/8” x 1-1/8” ODF connections. TXVs have several advantages such as increased energy efficiency and system performance, and increased equipment life since it eliminates liquid refrigerant from entering the compressor. They are applied in a number of applications including chillers, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
