Description
The Rheem-Ruud AP24427 Exhaust Pressure Switch is an electrical component used in gas furnaces to check the venting system is creating the correct draft during operation conduction. It is installed in the blower or inducer assembly where it senses pressure through a small hose connected to the vent circuit in HVAC systems. When the inducer motor produces adequate suction, the switch closes and signals the control board to allow ignition and continued burner operation. It is used in high-efficiency equipment to secure flue gas evacuation, avoid ignition under venting conditions, and maintain the accurate system sequencing during the heating cycles.
