The Reznor 258867 Thermal Expansion Valve Kit is a refrigerant control assembly used in R-410A systems, which is compatible with ACUC180, AUD2, and AUH3 units where it controls the flow of refrigerant in HVAC systems. It operates by monitoring temperature and pressure at the evaporator outlet and changing the position of the valves to ensure adequate superheat. It is supplied as a matched kit and is installed in the refrigerant line between the distributor and evaporator parts.
