Description
The Packard TTMJ400A Capacitor is a motor start component used in compressor and pump start circuits within cooling and refrigeration equipment. Rated at 400/480 MFD with a 200/250V range, it stores and releases electrical energy during startup to provide the extra torque required for motor acceleration. It is commonly applied in air conditioning condensers, heat pumps, and other HVAC systems where single-phase motors need assistance during initial operation. Built as a non-polarized electrolytic unit, it connects through standard terminals and operates only during brief start cycles before disengaging once the motor reaches running speed.
