The Lochinvar & A.O. Smith 100284289 Pressure Relief Valve is an essential safety part for different HVAC systems. This pressure relief valve is intended to open and release pressure when the pressure in the system becomes high and causes some harm to the equipment or when the system starts being dangerous to operate. It works based on the fact that it can detect when the pressure in the system is high than the set limit in this case 30 PSI. In this case, the valve releases water or other fluids in a controlled way easing off the pressure and bringing the system to normal operation.
