Description
The Lennox 25W78 Insert-NOX is a component developed for use in gas furnaces only. It focuses on nitrogen oxide (NOx) which is produced when fuel is burned. This insert allows the furnace to burn cleaner and to meet newer environmental standards for NOx emissions. The 25W78 Insert-NOX may be made from long-lasting steel in order to last long in the furnace setting. Although the details of its operation are trade secrets, it probably involves both the geometry of the fuel injector and possibly catalytic properties to minimize NOx during combustion.
