The Lennox 17G85 Inverter is used to convert standard single-phase power into variable frequency 60 Hz and voltage 208-230 VAC to adjust compressor speed in compatible Elite Series GEN2 XC20 and XP20-060 outdoor units in HVAC systems. It aids in easy manipulation of the motor drive of the compressor and assists in balancing the cooling capacity with the load within the system. In practice, in residential HVAC applications it is mounted in the control compartment of the outdoor unit where it is connected to the compressor and system controls.
