The Lennox 17F38 Collector Box is an essential accessory for Lennox solar thermal collectors. This black plastic housing serves as the accommodation for the black absorber tubes that collect solar thermal energy. The weather-resistant plastic protects the absorber tubes from the weather including rain, sleet and snow and the effects of UV light from the sun. This assists in increasing the solar collector’s service life while reducing its productivity loss due to the effects of these environmental characteristics. In some collector boxes, insulation may be incorporated into the housing design to still further increase the thermal efficiency by minimizing heat loss from the absorber tubes to the surroundings.
