The International Comfort Products 1173785 Contactor is an electrically operated switch that controls power delivery to two-pole loads such as compressors and condenser fan motors, rated at 30 amperes with a 24-volt coil operating at 50 or 60 Hz. Its electromagnetic coil pulls in the armature when the control circuit sends a 24V signal, closing both poles simultaneously to supply line voltage to the connected load with consistent contact pressure across each switching cycle. Fitted into the high-voltage section of condensing units, heat pumps, and packaged systems, it connects within HVAC systems at the electrical panel with line and load conductors.
