Description
The Emerson Flow Control (Alco) 058135 1-Ton Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is developed to control the flow of refrigerant in refrigeration and air conditioning systems that use R404A refrigerant. This particular model comes with 3/8” x 1/2” ODF connection. A TXV is used primarily to maintain a higher level of efficiency in systems by regulating superheat in order to prevent overload of the evaporator coil. This it does through variation of the refrigerant flow as it determines the temperature and pressure of the evaporator. When the evaporator is warm, the TXV permits better amount of refrigerant to flow through, and when it is cold it restricts it.
