Description
The Emerson Flow Control (Alco) 055706 2-Ton Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) regulates liquid refrigerant flow into 2-ton evaporator coils using R-22 or R-407C refrigerants. Installed in the liquid line through 3/8-inch inlet and 1/2-inch outlet ODF connections in HVAC systems, it uses a 5-foot capillary tube and remote sensing bulb to monitor suction line conditions. Fluid pressure changes within the bulb actuate an internal diaphragm against an adjustable spring to vary orifice size. Modulating refrigerant feed speed maintains proper superheat levels, balances evaporator performance and supports steady thermal transfer.
