The Dodge (Baldor) EC1216C06SP Electrolytic Start Capacitor is an electrical component that is used to supply energy to single phase motors at start up especially in air conditioning units and refrigeration compressor. It has a capacitance of 216-259 µF and a voltage of 250 VAC with the working frequency of 50/60 Hz. This capacitor provides an extra improve of torque during the time of starting, to help the motor come into rotation. After the motor attains operational speed, the capacitor drops out, making the system more energy efficient.
