Description
The Danfoss 120Z5012 Belt Crankcase Heater is a particular heater that is used in HVAC systems to prevent refrigerant from circulating and ensure the right viscosity of the oil in the crankcase of the compressor. This belt heater runs at 460V and 70W power and ensures that the crankcase temperature is kept high to avoid the formation of refrigerant in the oil at low ambient conditions. This heater is also applied in the HVAC compressor to improve performance and durability. This should be done to prevent washing of the oil by refrigerant which in turn leads to lubrication and possibly damaging the compressor.
