The Copeland Comfort Control (Alco) 057047 Thermal Expansion Valve is a refrigerant metering component designed for R12-based cooling applications. In HVAC systems it regulates refrigerant flow into the evaporator according to load conditions to maintain stable cooling performance. It is used in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment where precise control of refrigerant distribution is required across the evaporator coil.
