Copeland Comfort Control (Alco) 053070 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is a refrigerant metering component, used to regulate liquid refrigerant flow into the evaporator. It is designed for R502 systems with 3/8″ x 1/2″ SAE angle connections and a 2-ton capacity rating. It is used in HVAC systems within refrigeration and air conditioning circuits to control superheat and maintain stable evaporator performance. It is installed at the evaporator inlet to adjust refrigerant delivery based on temperature and pressure conditions supporting efficient heat exchange during cooling operation.
