Description
The Copeland 577-0421-00 Tank-Accumulator Assembly is used in the HVAC systems to modulate the flow of refrigerant and for compressor protection. In constructing this assembly, the robust bimetal is used so that it can serve well in the system’s operation. It draws and holds refrigerant during off-cycles. Refrigerant liquid entering into the compressor is avoided by the tank-accumulator assembly, which reduces compressor damage and creates smoother system operation. This tends to buffer the refrigerant flow and hence assists in sustaining pressure and temperature levels of the HVAC for general consistency.
