Description
The Carrier HT32BH861 Crankcase Heater that provides protection to the refrigeration compressors used in HVAC systems including air conditioning system and heat pumps. This essential component is a resistance heating element, usually a flexible silicone rubber pad or a wire coiled around the compressor’s crankcase. This minimises movement of refrigerant acting as oil and subsequent formation of oil drop with refrigerant liquid within the compressor, a phenomenon referred to as refrigerant migration. When a system is off, the refrigerant vapor can condense in the cooler crankcase and become mixed with the oil.
