Despite its small size, it is a essentialpart in the protection of your equipment. The HH18HA597 arrives pre-set for a high-limit temperature, which usually is set at 160°F. It has a temperature-sensitive relay, either sequencing or switching, which regulates the flow of power. If the temperature inside your furnace or air handler rises to 160°F, the switch opens the relay and turns off the power to the heater.
