The Carrier EA52PT055 Piston is a small and essential part of some Carrier HVAC equipment. It is a bi-metal piston and made of two metals that expand at different rates when heated. Possible to control the refrigerant flow depending on temperature. When the temperature is high, the piston piston moves to close the passageway to allow less refrigerant to flow when the temperature is low it opens, the passageway by retracting to allow more refrigerant to flow through. This assists in keeping the desired temperature within HVAC system. This Piston is usually a black metallic cylinder with a length of 0.5 and width and height of 0.375 inches.
