Carrier 08-1991-00 Automatic Reset Switch is a safety device commonly used in HVAC equipment. It plays the role of the unseen shield which helps to prevent the system from possible overheating damage. The switch opens the electrical circuit to break the connection instantly when temperatures go high, often around 140°F. This helps to prevent the main components of the system from overheating and developing some problems. When the temperature drops below the reset point of 50°F for this switch, the circuit reactivates power to the system.
