Description
The Carrier 010-070003-005 thermal expansion valve is an essential component of all HVAC systems. The TXV is located in the refrigerant line and is fitted with a bi-metal spring that changes with the refrigerant temperature. The spring engages with the entering cool liquid refrigerant and squeezes to allow a certain measure of refrigerant through. The evaporator coil can be at optimal temperature absorbing heat from the surrounding air because of this controlled flow. This particular Carrier TXV is 9” in all dimensions and has a different UPC number but is usually obtainable from HVAC parts.
