The Armstrong International 175A4 is a float and thermostatic steam trap designed for use in industrial steam systems up to 175 psi 12 bar. By extracting condensate, or water vapor, and preventing important steam from escaping, this essential part keeps the system operating at peak efficiency. A dual-action mechanism is used by the 175A4 to remove condensate effectively. As condensate builds up, the trap’s float rises, releasing a discharge valve and allowing the condensate to drain. A thermostatic element reacts to temperature variations simultaneously. The element expands when steam reaches the trap, shutting the valve and halting steam loss. Together, these actions guarantee that the trap distinguishes between condensate and live steam efficiently, increasing system performance and reducing energy consumption.
