The Amana-Goodman 0151M00087 Thermal Expansion Valve is a part of AC & Refrigeration systems that allows controlling the flow of refrigerant to the evaporator coil. This TXV in particular uses R-410A refrigerant, which has become the go-to refrigerant for HVAC systems due to its efficiency and relative ecologic purity. The TXV functions according to the principle of temperature control. This usually involves using a sensing bulb mounted on the evaporator outlet in order to measure the refrigerant’s temperature. This temperature reading is then to adjust the valve’s opening, controlling the refrigerant flow the refrigerant temperature rises, and the TXV opens more to allow refrigerant to flow in order to cool.
