The Amana-Goodman 0130F00445 Pressure Switch is an essential part of the HVAC system, which is built with the purpose to regulate refrigerant pressure in the system. It operates based on a simple principle the switch has a diaphragm that is affected by pressure in some manner. When the pressure of the refrigerant goes below a certain low pressure set value commonly below -.76 inches of water column, the switch gets tripped and sends a signal to the HVAC control board. It can trigger a number of operations for example, to start the compressor, turn on the condenser fan or sound a low-pressure signal.
