The Bard HVAC 5651-218BX Expansion Valve manages refrigerant metering within the cooling circuit by controlling the amount of fluid admitted toward the evaporator. As refrigerant passes through the valve orifice, its pressure is reduced, initiating the conditions needed for evaporation and heat absorption across the coil. The system responds to circuit operating conditions to adjust refrigerant delivery rather than providing unrestricted passage in HVAC systems.
