Description
The Carrier 340620-719 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) regulates refrigerant flow into the evaporator by adjusting based on temperature and pressure conditions at the coil outlet, ensuring controlled cooling operation. It uses a sensing bulb and internal diaphragm to modulate the valve opening, maintaining proper superheat and preventing excess liquid refrigerant from entering the compressor. Within HVAC systems such as air conditioners and heat pumps, it enables precise refrigerant metering for effective heat exchange. Connected between the liquid line and evaporator, it supports stable cooling output, balanced system operation and consistent performance under varying load conditions.
