The Lennox 16G42 Limit Control is a thermal safety switch to monitor excessive temperature conditions inside the furnace heat exchanger or air handler. It interrupts system operation when internal temperatures reach 230F, preventing overheating and protecting essential components from heat. In residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including forced-air furnaces and air distribution units, it is positioned within the heat section to regulate burner operation and blower cycling.
