The Copeland Comfort Control (Alco) 054950 2.5 Ton Thermal Expansion Valve HFE 2 1/2HC 5′ is a refrigerant metering component designed to regulate the amount of liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator coil. Its sensing bulb monitors outlet temperature changes and adjusts the valve opening, allowing the correct refrigerant flow based on system demand while maintaining proper evaporator conditions in HVAC system. The unit is installed in the refrigerant line between the liquid line and evaporator inlet with 3/8″ x 1/2″ ODF connections.
